It Begins

I've known for some time now, as all parents know, that my eldest daughter is a genius. I hadn't yet discovered until last night however, that she is an EVIL genius.

I got home from work yesterday to find Wendy changing Kaylee's nappy. Nothing unusual there. Later we were watching TV and it occurred to me that it was 8 pm. Generally Kaylee's bedtime is 7:30 pm, and yet she didn't seem tired at this point.

So I asked Wendy whether she'd had a daytime sleep that day, and if so what time she'd woken up. Apparently she'd had a very late daytime sleep and had woken at 7 pm. Fine, I thought, she'll be up for a bit then, and could go to bed around 9 pm.

So at around 9:05 I asked her if it was time for bed. "No!" she replied, and tottered off in the direction of the bedrooms. I thought she'd gone to see what Mummy was up to. But oh no. Five minutes later Wendy wanders into the lounge room and asks me whether I was getting Kaylee's bottle of milk. The evil sod had told me no, and then proceeded to go climb into her cot herself and was now standing in said cot, looking forlorn, and asking where her "moo moo" was.

She's probably wondering what her cut will be, when I get done for neglect.

I always knew women were evil. I didn't know how early the evil manifested.
